Rescheduled NOFC annual member meeting

The annual member meeting of the New Orleans Food Co-op was originally scheduled for October 15th, but was postponed due to Hurricane Katrina. At this meeting a new Board of Directors will be elected. All are invited, but only co-op members paid in full can vote.

The meeting will be at the Fair Grinds Coffeehouse on Thursday, January 5th, 2006, at 6:30p.m.

The next meeting of the New Orleans Food Co-op Board of Directors will be at Erin Laine’s home. All are invited to this meeting. The agenda is as follows:

  1. Treasurer’s Report.
  2. Old Business.

    • Sharing space with Melonhead Cafe.

      1. Draft agreement.
      2. Member survey.
      3. Store opening plan.
  3. New business.

This meeting will be at 8203 Plum Street, New Orleans (in the Carrollton-Riverbend neighborhood; see a map) on Wednesday, December 14th at 6:00p.m.

NOFC mentioned in the Times-Picayune

The “Food Briefs” column of the December 1st issue of the Times-Picayune discusses our plans to open a store at the Melonhead Cafe. There are some nice quotations from John Calhoun, and a mention of joining the co-op.

3rd annual Festivus

The Crescent City Farmers’ Market announces its 3rd annual Festivus, featuring local and fair trade crafts, music from the Office of Homeland Serenity, and (hopefully) once again a Festivus Pole.

Festivus will take place on Saturday, December 10th, 11am-4pm at the site of the Saturday markets, 700 Magazine Street.
