In the last few weeks the NOFC has put considerable energy towards quickly opening a small storefront. We now have an opportunity to place a store in the Melonhead Cafe in Marigny, and we are working quickly to reach a decision as to whether we will take up this opportunity.
Several members have met with the owner of the Melonhead Cafe in Marigny and the owner of the space they occupy. We have introduced the possibility of using some of their space for running our first storefront. Pharon of Melonhead and Adam, the building owner, were very receptive to this idea.
The amount of space available to us is yet to be determined. Please see the calendar section of this website for upcoming meetings on this topic. And please try to attend a meeting - the more input we have, the better a decision we can make.
Erin has taken a few pictures of the outside of the Melonhead Cafe and also scanned in two floorplan drawings provided by the owner. These documents will convey a sense for the space we are considering. The pictures are on Erin’s personal picture gallery; there is also a map showing the location of the Melonhead Cafe.
