Because co-ops are jointly owned, operated, and controlled by their members, you decide what is in your store, when it is open, how it looks and how it feels. Additionally, as a member there is a financial benefit in the form of a rebate or occasional discount that you receive because you are a member. Also, while it is true that a lot of co-ops across the country do offer a lot of healthy food including organic labels, they only do this because that is what their members desire. Our co-op will carry what our members want to shop for.
