How to get food (make groceries)!

 Sunday Grocery 12 - 6pm St. Claude @ St. Roch

  1. Become a member of the New Orleans Food Cooperative. Join as a founding member/owner at a $25 or $100 level (payments of $5 or $20).
    1. Print the application form from www.nolafoodcoop.org/join and mail it with a check.
    2. Pick up and/or drop off applications with a check at Hollygrove Market & farm on Saturday from 10 – 2pm, 8301 Olive St.
    3. Pick up and/or drop off applications with a check or cash at the NOFC Sunday Grocery from 12 – 6pm, 2372 St. Claude @ St. Roch.
    4. Online payments are temporarily out of order, but will be fixed soon, for credit and debit cards through paypal find www.nolafoodcoop.org/join
  2. You can have your own internet account with our buying club and order whatever you personally want. Traditionally this pick-up is at Hollygrove, so if you want to pick up at Sunday Grocery instead, send an email with your buying club account # to (buyingclub@nolafoodcoop.org) buyingclub (at) nolafoodcoop (dot) org, subject line: order pick up at Sunday Grocery. ATT: split cases, you can order a split case and the NOFC account will finish the other part of the split, making things available at the Sunday Grocery. Mistake orders will also be covered by the NOFC account and available at the Sunday Grocery.
    1. If you are already a NOFC member and would like to set up your buying club account, please email your request and contact info to (buyingclub@nolafoodcoop.org) buyingclub (at) nolafoodcoop (dot) org subject line: setup my buying club account
    2. If you already have your buying club account and want help using it to place your order, please email your request to (buyingclub@nolafoodcoop.org) buyingclub (at) nolafoodcoop (dot) org or call temporarily volunteer 765-413-7231 (evenings and weekends).
  3. Alternately you can combine your personal order with the NOFC buying club account, if you do not want to order from your own account, either because you do not use a computer or because you do not have time to use the internet system. These orders are traditionally picked up at Sunday Grocery, so if you want to get them at Hollygrove on Saturday instead please include this with your order info.
    1. Use the online catalog to shop for what you want, www.nolafoodcoop.org/about/library/unfi-catalogs, write down the item #, item name, the quantity it comes in and the quantity that you yourself would want.
    2. There is a catalog available at the Sunday Grocery.
    3. If you don’t use the catalog but you know what you want, you can also make a list and get it to us for ordering, we need a product or brand name and an ideal quantity.
      1. Send your list to (info@nolafoodcoop.org) info (at) nolafoodcoop (dot) org with the subject line of: grocery order.
      2. You can bring your grocery order list to the NOFC Sunday Grocery and drop it off.
      3. You can also call in your order, temporarily volunteer 504-782-8688.
    4. We also have a wish list, your suggestions are what the NOFC uses to place the large order and you are not promising to buy these things. Add to the wish list at the Sunday Grocery or send an email to info@nolafoodcoop.org
  4. Actually getting your food.
    1. If you order from your own buying club account, these are traditionally picked up at Hollygrove on Saturday, so if you want to pick up at Sunday Grocery instead, send an email with your buying club account # to (buyingclub@nolafoodcoop.org) buyingclub (at) nolafoodcoop (dot) org, subject line: order pick up at Sunday Grocery.
    2. If you order through the NOFC account, these are traditionally picked up at Sunday Grocery, so if you want to pick up on Saturday at Hollygrove instead, please include this with your order info.
    3. Hollygrove NOFC pick up takes checks, Sunday Grocery takes checks and cash.
  5. Other details –
    1. Right now we order once a month and from order deadline on a Wednesday to delivery is a week and a half.
    2. We order from UNFI (United Natural Foods Inc.) They have over 14,000 products and are the largest healthy food distributor in America.
    3. ATT: Refrigerated and frozen products – Hollygrove has storage for these items and Sunday Grocery does not, keep this in mind when ordering. We will transport these items and store them in an ice chest for you to pick up at the Sunday Grocery.
